At Charis Birth & Wellness, care is designed to support the whole family throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season. Every aspect of care is grounded in clinical skill, relational support, and deep respect for the physiologic process of birth.

Because care does not end when your baby is born. The postpartum season deserves the same thoughtful attention and support as pregnancy and birth.

Home birth midwifery care is designed for families experiencing healthy, low-risk pregnancies who desire an out-of-hospital birth experience. Throughout pregnancy, ongoing assessment and open communication help ensure that both mother and baby remain appropriate candidates for home birth. If circumstances arise that require a higher level of care, I am committed to helping families navigate that transition and connect with providers who are able to offer the medical resources and support needed for their unique situation.

I deeply value informed choice and respect the autonomy of the families I serve. At the same time, safe home birth depends on a shared understanding of risk and a commitment to practicing within a clearly defined circle of safety. While families are always free to make decisions regarding their care, there may be times when those decisions no longer align with the standards under which I am able to safely practice. In those situations, I will compassionately facilitate a transfer of care to a provider whose philosophy and scope of practice are better aligned with the family's goals and choices.

These decisions are never personal or punitive. Rather, they reflect my responsibility to practice with integrity, protect the safety of both mother and baby, and ensure that every family receives care from the provider best equipped to support their individual circumstances.

To provide attentive, relationship-centered care, I intentionally accept a limited number of clients each month. This allows for unhurried prenatal visits, dedicated support throughout labor and birth, and nurturing postpartum care during the weeks that follow. Because availability is limited, I encourage families to reach out early in pregnancy to discuss current openings.
